IN-CHARACTER EXPECTATIONS

  • YOU as a player may opt out of any event, experiment or part of the game you wish. We will try and tailor events to suit everyone's comfort, however this may not always be possible. Please submit ideas to the mod team if you need events tailored to a certain preference and they will be be put into the pool of future experiments. HOWEVER, a core part of the game is character death, please consider this before applying.
  • Your character’s survival is not guaranteed, nor should it be expected.
  • Do not powerplay, godmod, or otherwise undermine the illusion of free will.
  • IC consequences will reflect IC choices. This is not a safe work environment.
  • Characters are encouraged to be messy, flawed, and terrified. It's tradition.

OUT-OF-CHARACTER ETIQUETTE:

  • Be kind. We torment characters, not each other.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully about plot, tone, and comfort levels.
  • If something makes you uncomfortable, say so or contact the head mod.
  • Activity checks are monthly. Participation is required to maintain your spot in the game.
  • Hiatus? Drop? Let us know. We prefer voluntary communication to messy retrieval missions.

WHAT KIND OF CHARACTERS ARE ALLOWED:

  • Canon Characters
  • Original Characters
  • Alternate-Universe Characters
  • Characters From Former Games
  • Characters With Limited/Obscure Canon
  • Silent/Malleable/MMORPG Protagonists
  • There may be up to THREE versions of a character in-game at once. ONE OU version and TWO AU versions. Inquisitors, WoLs or adjacent are subject to the rule of three.
  • AUs of any kind MUST provide links or write-ups detailing how they differ from their original counterpart, and CRAUs must also provide details on significant relationships they made in-game. Fandom AUs will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
  • Inquisitors, WoL or anything adjacent will fall under the above limitations.
  • Canons will be monitored and these numbers may be adjusted at ANY time per mod discretion in order to avoid cast bloat.
  • When applying for an AU, do your due diligence to let ANY current castmates who may be impacted know. Play nice, play fair. Playing the same character is NOT a competition, nor is hoarding CR the goal. This will be monitored. After all, you would not like it if you played a character in a game and someone applied for a slightly different version of the same character just to hog the spotlight, so do not do so to your peers.
  • Characters from limited or obscure canons will need to provide as much canon material available and provide a supplemental write-up. This MAY include limited headcanon, but you MUST stick closely to the spirit of the source material.

FINAL REMINDER:

Failure to comply with these rules will result in disciplinary action, ranging from polite warnings to full psychological reconditioning. Compliance is, as always, mandatory. ;)
