What Are Experiments?

Experiments are the core of your existence here. They are controlled events designed to push test subjects beyond physical, mental, and emotional limits. A long way of saying, to kill the soul from inside its capsule. These trials may vary wildly in scale and scope, from isolated solo tests to full group scenarios and even exercises involving subjects acting upon each other. Participation is mandatory; resistance is both futile and punished.

Types of Experiments

  • Solo Experiments
Designed to isolate a single test subject, solo experiments often target personal fears, physical endurance, or mental fortitude. These trials may involve sensory deprivation, simulated traumas, or cryptic puzzles with consequences tied to compliance or failure.
  • Group Experiments
These require cooperation or competition among multiple subjects. Group experiments test social dynamics, trust, and the ability to adapt when resources are scarce or stakes are high.
  • Interpersonal Experiments
Perhaps the most unsettling, these experiments force subjects to inflict or endure pain, manipulation, or psychological torment at the hands of their peers.

Example Experiments

  • Solo: The Darkness Within
The subject is placed in a soundproof, pitch-black chamber for an extended period. Random, unsettling sounds are introduced intermittently. The subject must resist breaking down or attempting escape.
  • Group: The Last Drop
A limited water supply is dropped into the town. Subjects must decide how to ration, share, or fight over it. Hidden consequences await those who drink too much or too little. Nightmares, hallucinations, or physical pain that will affect their future behavior.
  • Interpersonal: Trust Test
Subjects are paired and tasked with performing minor “surgical” procedures on one another. Removing a small piece of flesh or inflicting pain on a designated limb. Success depends on cooperation and compliance. Refusal or sabotage results in severe penalties.

What to Expect

Experiments may begin suddenly, with little warning, or be announced with cryptic instructions. Some may span hours, others days. Expect physical discomfort, psychological stress, and escalating challenges. Compliance may be rewarded with mysterious “gifts,” while defiance brings swift consequences.
